Basia Delawska-Elliott has served as a medical librarian at Providence, in Portland, OR since 2013. From 2019 to 2021, Basia held the position of Health Sciences Research and Education Librarian at Oregon Health & Science University. Throughout her tenure at Providence and the Oregon Health & Science University, she has supported clinical work, education, and research, including epidemiology, infectious diseases, and global public health.
Basia has been a member of both undergraduate and graduate medical education committees and has served as an instructor in courses focused on interprofessional education and evidence-based practice and medicine. She has held numerous leadership positions including chairing scholarship committees, award juries, the Hospital Library Caucus of the Medical Library Association, and the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the MLA. Basia is a senior member of the Academy of the Health Information Professionals.
Her professional interests are centered on health information-seeking behaviors and enhancing health and media literacy, reflecting her commitment to advancing knowledge and improving healthcare outcomes.
