Outbreaks in GIDEON

The GIDEON Epidemiology module now provides a chronological listing of ALL key outbreaks – for ALL relevant diseases. These lists document outbreaks by year and country, and are updated every week. The complete list of all outbreaks is available here.

This module contains over 5,000 outbreaks. Clicking on any listed item will instantly access the relevant country-specific disease note. A user working with a specific disease can now locate all epidemics, outbreaks and case clusters published for that disease.

For example, to list all key outbreaks of Botulism, in the Epidemiology module, click on the Distribution Tab. Scroll the lower left box to Botulism and then click on the Outbreaks icon:

Note that the earliest outbreak listed occurred in the United States in 1947. If we click on this link, the following screen appears.
